Mainly for cross breeding and as parent stock

Osmanabadi

This one is southern version of Beetal for its colour, hardiness and prolificacy but for body
weight and milk.

Though the breed is well spread in central and eastern Maharashtra good animals are
available in Latur, Udgir and Tuljhapur and Osmanabad districts.

Ideal buck attains 35kg and female attains 30kg weight at maturity.

This breed is generally considered prolific with more percentage of twins and triplets. There is
just about milk to feed if there is more than one kid.

This breed can be used for cross breeding with better results by using a Beetal buck or Sirohi
one.
